In real life, huts like this, or ‘bathing machines’ as they were often called, were used between the 18th and early 20th centuries and offered the occupant a private place to change into bathing costumes, thereby preserving modesty.
They were traditionally wheeled down to the water’s edge to allow the bather to observe proper beach etiquette and respectability when sea-bathing.
 
Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1961 and in very good condition. Comes with a jump ring ready to attach to your bracelet.
