This is a very large and majestic vintage 9ct gold fob, modelled with two horses rampant, and set with a large Citrine.
The two horses are beautifully cast, as is the beautifully decorative setting beneath them. The Citrine shows a good clarity although its been very difficult to capture the shine in photographs.
In heraldry, the horse signifies readiness to act for one's country, a symbol of speed and virility, hence the rampant or salient (in a fighting position) attitude.
Fully hallmarked for Birmngham 1970, this fob is in excellent condition and is a lovely weight. Comes with a jump ring ready to attach to your bracelet, or could be worn as a pendant or on a watch chain.
